Letting Go

Tonight had seemed to her like a dream
And she wished it would never end
She had known from the first day they’d met
That she’d found her lifelong friend

Then he took her hand and got down on one knee
And her head started to swim
Then her said the words the she’d always dreamed
He asked her to marry him

And then, she cried
Tears of joy filling her eyes
She knew right then
They’d be together the rest of their lives

They’d always wanted children of their own
But every time they tried it didn’t work out
So when they found out they were having a child
They didn’t know whether to believe or doubt
Not a single day of those nine months went by
That they didn’t stop to pray
When the doctor handed them their baby girl
They didn’t know what to say

So then, they cried
Tears of joy filling their eyes
They knew right then
The Lord had blessed them with this new life

And their lives were blessed
And their love it grew
Through the good and the hard times
Together they always stood

He asked if he could sit and talk for a while
Just like they used to do
She looked at him and said with a smile
I’m so thankful God gave me you

Their conversation turned to the past
And they talked over times of old
He held her hand and she laughed out loud
At the stories that he told

And then, he cried
Tears of joy filling his eyes
He knew right then
The Lord would take good care of his wife

Then he kissed her one last time
And then

When I was just a young girl
I would often pray for you
That you were becoming someone
Who loved Jesus like I do

I prayed your faith would be strong
A man after God’s own heart
And each time that I’d pray for you
This is how it’d always start

Bless this man, he’s the one you’re preparing for me
To cherish me all of my life and love me devotedly
Lord help him to be strong
And be the support I’ll need
I’ll pray for him everyday
That by his side you’ll always be

As I grew up I knew
God was preparing me
To be that woman just for you
Because he knew what you’d need

I’ve dreamed of this day all my life
When I’d be yours and you’d be mine
And now I’m saying this prayer for you
On this first day as your wife

Lord Bless this man, he’s the one you have chosen for me
I’ll cherish him all of my life and love him devotedly

I give honor and praise and thanks to Jesus first and foremost, for giving me the inspiration and talent to do this work. Everything I’ve learned about relationships, whether it be between humans or horses, I’ve seen modeled in my relationship with Christ, and it is through His creation that I find my inspiration.

A special thanks to my loving husband. You have been my biggest support through this whole process. Thank you for believing in me, and giving me the courage to live my dream.

To all my family and friends, thank you for loving me and cheering me on. You are who I’m the most anxious to share this music with because your opinion is what matters the most to me.

Music is my passion, it’s the best way I know to express everything else I’m most passionate about. My songs are a reflection on life, and life is all about relationships.
